Fujitsu ScanSnap iX1300 vs S1300i Review: Pros, Cons, & Verdict
Fujitsu has been in the scanner market for some time now and has released a variety of scanner models. In this review, we’ll take a look at two scanner products from the ScanSnap series: the iX1300 and S1300i. Here’s our comparison of the Fujitsu ScanSnap iX1300 vs the Fujitsu ScanSnap S1300i.
Fujitsu ScanSnap iX1300 Review
In terms of design, Fujitsu has implemented a space-saving style for the iX1300 scanner. Its compact design allows for placement anywhere in the room while improving operational efficiency, making it perfect for office use.
Moving on to the scanning capabilities, we were impressed by the innovative paper-feeding enhancement technology. It allows for scanning a variety of document types, simply by placing them into the paper tray.
The iX1300 also comes with several helpful features to support the scanning process, such as one-touch paper-in for faster scanning activation, automatic deskew to improve image quality, color detection, and blank page removal. These features improve scanning productivity and are easy to use.
The connectivity options for the iX1300 scanner are also impressive, including USB and Wi-Fi connectivity, making it compatible with PCs, Macs, mobile devices, and various cloud services.
However, we did find the software design to be unintuitive and difficult to use, particularly for those new to Fujitsu scanners. Additionally, the lack of an instruction manual with the product was inconvenient, requiring us to find it on Fujitsu’s official website or other sources.

Fujitsu ScanSnap S1300i Review
This ScanSnap model offers a one-touch scanning feature that can be accessed through the Quick Menu option on both PC and Mac, allowing for faster operation with just one click.
It also supports double-sided scanning with a speed of 12 double-sided pages per minute, although its document feeder can only handle up to 10 pages at a time, which is lower than other models in the series. This is a disadvantage for those using it for business or office purposes.
We also tested the scanner’s ability to scan thin paper documents such as notebook paper, and the results were not satisfactory. The document feeder was unable to detect the paper and scan its content, which was disappointing.
However, Fujitsu has included various connectivity features, including USB and Wi-Fi. The Wi-Fi or network connectivity is also compatible with cloud scanning from various cloud services like Google Drive, DropBox, Evernote, and others.
The scanner also offers various image scanning features, including paper size detection, auto color detection, de-skew, orientation, and more. Additionally, it has a scanning resolution of up to 600 dpi for color pages, which may not be very high, but is sufficient for photo scanning.
