Coway Airmega 400S vs 400G Review: Pros, Cons, & Verdict
Coway has been in the air purifier industry for nearly 30 years. Besides Samsung, the brand is a symbol of the life-care service sector in South Korea.
And the Airmega air purifiers are their latest flagship air purifiers. The most popular ones from this series are Coway Airmega 400S vs Coway Airmega 400G.
Coway Airmega 400S Review
The Coway Airmega 400S comes in only 2 different colors, which are graphite and white. The design of this air purifier resembles the design of the Airmega 300S, with a bigger size. Its product dimension of it is 22.8 inches x 14,8 inches x 21,2 inches.
The Airmega 400S is a bulky air purifier with 4 legs, making it quite difficult for you to move it from one place to another. There is a typical outlet air vent on top of the unit to take out fresh air. You will also find the controller there.
As a smart air purifier, the Coway Airmega 400S no longer features as many buttons as its predecessors. It only has a single on/off button and 2 air filter indicators. The filters are the unique feature of this air purifier.
Coway makes an innovation with the Airmega 400S by equipping it with an all-in-one filter for easier installation. The device only has a pre-filter and Max2 filter. The Max2 filter combines a true HEPA filter and activated carbon filter, capturing up to 99.97% of airborne particles 0.3 microns. The Airmega 400S can purify a room of up to 780 square feet.

Coway Airmega 400G Review
The Coway Airmega 400G is not much different than the Airmega 400S. It also features the same all-in-one filter for easier installation: the pre-filter and Max2 Filter. The pre-filter is permanent, you do not have to replace it.
Simply wash the pre-filter on a regular basis with water and soap to clean the trapped particles. On the other hand, the Max2 filter is not permanent. You need to replace it when the contaminant is already complete. You approximately need to clean it every year.
The Coway Airmega 400G can also purify rooms of 780 square feet, just like the Airmega 400S, though the manual says it can handle up to 1560 square feet. When it comes to noise levels, the Airmega 400G ranges from 22db to 52db.
It has a low noise level despite its powerful fan and big size. You can barely hear the sound when you put it on a minimum fan speed. Even when you put it on the highest fan speed, the Airmega 400G only produces white noise. So, you can comfortably place it in your bedroom.
