BenQ GV30 vs BenQ GS2 Review: Pros, Cons, and Verdict
Recent trend shows that projector displays are becoming more popular than screen or LCD displays. This is mostly due to the portability and the practicality of LED projectors compared to screens. For that reason, BenQ introduced two of their projector: the GV30 and GS2.
In this article, we will compare both projectors to determine which one is the ultimate portable projector.
BenQ GV30 Review
BenQ released the GV30 back on 15 September 2021 in response to a growing market for portable projectors. Equipped with a sleek and rounded design, BenQ promised a high-quality projector equipped with a good speaker. So, we tested this projector out to see whether BenQ fulfilled its promise or not.
BenQ GV30 Features
For display, BenQ equipped the GV30 with 720p native resolution and a fixed 16:9 aspect ratio. In addition to that, the brightness measured 300 ANSI lumens which are not bad but also not that good either. In terms of color, this projector is capable of displaying sharp images with 24-bit (16.7 million) colors.
The projector can be adjusted quite freely with the 135-degree angle adjustment limit. Not only that but the GV30 smart projector is also equipped with autofocus and up to 40 degrees vertical keystone.
In terms of compatibility, the GV30 LED projector is compatible with various resolutions, from VGA to Full HD. With Android TV 9.0, you’ll be able to watch various contents that you can download via Google Play Store. However, the battery life can only last for 2.5 hours. So, make sure to plug in this projector if you want to watch a long movie.
The audio quality from the speaker itself is not disappointing. With Bluetooth connectivity and extra bass, the speaker is equipped with a built-in 2.1 channel, dual 4W mid-range tweeters, and the main 8W woofer. This resulted in clear and detailed 270 degrees of sound output.
Being a portable projector, BenQ Gv30 is also quite easy to carry with only 1.6 kg (3.53 lb) total weight. Moreover, this projector won’t take much storage space with its small and compact size (12 x 19.6 x 18.5 cm). As an added bonus, this LED projector is quite sturdy with 70 cm (27.6 inches) drop-proof height.

BenQ GS2 Features

The GS2 LED projector is capable of displaying VGA to Full HD video. While having the native resolution of 720p, 1080p video can still be played through this projector. The setup is easy with the use of an autofocus lens which can be fitted nicely in the corner.
About the power supply, GS2 portable projector is powered by a 240V battery which can last up to 3 hours when fully charged. However, the audio output is not that great for an outdoor projector. So, an external speaker is recommended for higher audio quality.
Weighing only 1.6 kg, this projector is also equipped with an eye protection sensor to protect your loved ones from high light exposure. Other than that, this portable projector is also water splash-proof and drop-proof (50 cm).
